Genevieve
Seillé (b. France, 1951) Born in France in 1951, Seille moved to England in the late 70s. In 1985 she started to draw compulsively, calling her works calligraphic landscapes which progressed into biomorphic, anatomical and architectural drawings. Her graffiti-like art work expresses her interest in line and form, developing into a mixture of language, color and texture. Seillé works on rough paper using a variety of media which she applies in layers onto the surface. She has exhibited throughout Europe and America and has been featured in Raw Vision magazine. She is also known for her delicate handmade books which are represented in the National Art Library Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. |
